to make the fitting for the stand pipe I have used a regular joiner which I have cut and filed the attachment point off and cut one of the barbs off so the stand pipe can be pulled off when needed

Making the stand pipe out of poly, I had to straighten it first and then stretch it with a socket wrench and hot water (you may need lube to get your socket back) and drilled the drain hole

I drilled a lot of holes in the pvc pipe.
I needed a way to control the flow to each of the barrels, so I used tie wire to pinch them in the middle.

That is looking very neat and tidy, jwhittak98.
I have a concern, however - what is the life expectancy of a pallet like that, out in the open and exposed to the elements? Even down there in Tassie I doubt that your pallets are made from durable Huon Pine.

At a guess I wood say 18 months, 18 weeks, 18 days, 18 hours, 18 minutes and 18 seconds. However @ $1 per pallet from work, this is not a worry.

Also I will be moving in 12 months as I am getting a mortgage...

That strategy is certain to impact on the health of your local termites and shorten their lives, so it might actually work! :)
If the oil also waterproofs the wood and helps prevent rot then you win again! Your pallets are cheap at $1 each but the saving you make may be your time and convenience, with fewer pallet change overs.

That would make it 23 months, 4 days, 18 hours, 18 minutes, and 18 seconds. As 18 days is two weeks plus 4 days, making it 20 weeks, which is roughly 5 months.

As long as you are happy to use goldfish in your system . As we have crazy laws about fish here. Definitely no tilapia.
