as guppies are not that big id say its a safe bet that they would eat a good amount daily. silver perch are a little bit bigger then the oscars i kept and they would eat up about 8 to 10 guppies rather quickly.
again if you have a nice size aquarium running that you can breed in, id say you would always have a good amount of live treats to feed your fish. the more a read i would think sticking to a sole live food diet would not be advisable, but ill let someone else chime in on more info if they have it as im just an aquarium guy not an AP guy... i can go on and on about breeding fish and diets, conditions and more when it comes to aquatics but im sensing an AP system is going to run a bit differently, that's my two sense.
if you do decide to get in to the guppies i can let you know as much as i can , as the beginning of this post kinda implies iv had great success with breeding overstocks of them lol.

I just showed the wife this thread... looks like we might get one of the spare fish tanks going...lol

Add these to the maggots we are farming, the colony of meal worms i am growing and the pellets... my fish are going to have a great feed!!

Gambusia are actually a "cousin" of the guppy so I believe the study cited earlier in this thread can be applied to guppies (very similar sizes and habits, different temperature tolerance) (they are related to the point that some people try to interbreed them to make a cold-resistant guppy of sorts).

I have six gambusia in my IBC FT but don't have sufficient baby hides yet, I'll get to it as soon as I have some time to give the future Pumpkinseed some live snacks.

IceManDude, you'll have a hundred in less than a month. if the girls had been with boys anywhere in the last month, they are already pregnant. Guppies are amazing breeders.

Buy a $2 plastic pepper grinder and fill it with AP food.
When you want to feed your fish just crush the food over the tank.
That's what I feed all my baby fish now.

Yep I have found the Ap feed to work very well for growing out Babbie fish, also about ten times cheaper

I think that two of my new girls are preggers, big dark spots near the anal fin... so at least we wont have to wait too long!!

i now have 13 or so fry swimming around the bottom of the tank, they took me by surprise and now we have three females in isolation tanks so they can drop their fry without them getting eaten...
