First time I read this thread, and fairly similar to what my plans are, just on a larger scale.
I am getting some Murray Cod in December to stock my system.
Then around winter I plan on venting a pair or two, separating them, and giving breeding a go.
It isnt supposed to be too hard, just gotta wait 6 years for the fish to reach maturity.

Hopefully one of us can be successful :)

If the Cod you're getting in December are fingerlings... they're not going to be sexually mature by winter...

I don't expect them to be mature for 6 years.
I have 10 empty fish tanks waiting for them during winter if necessary... :)
