Yeah no worries , I hope Chillidude calms down. You're probably right but I think you guys are trying to read to much into what gets said.
Should prove to be a good day out,
I've signed up for dvd , I'm sure I'll learn something out of it..

Have good one...
Time for fishfeeding and a Nine Tales or two,
Cheers

I wish I could go... bit far but...

I've seen a number of posts around on a couple of forums about wanting knowledge of sustainable and/or commercial operations involving AP. There seems to be a view that it can be a rude awakening for those who come into the field with a view to having a life-changing operation running.

It appears to me, that in groups such as the NSWAA and possible the Qld one (haven't read up on that at all) we might have an opportunity to contact those who HAVE made a going concern of AP or other Aqua styles. I for one think such opportunities can be valuable experiences to meet those who have made the transition from net out-go hobby to practical everyday operation that clearly, even if not profitable, has been at least sustainable over the long term.

I don't plan to let people wanting to increase their business be a stopper on me meeting and learning; in fact I would be very suspicious of anyone running a commercial operation (or wanting to) who did NOT offer me their wares. The whole point of being in business is to supply to customers, so if a vendor shows an interest in promoting the general field into which s/he wishes to make a living, surely it is not unexpected for them to let the industry know about their products?

In this instance I have actually learned quite a bit from the person being mentioned and he has offered information that changed my view on things; at no point has he done more than just offer from his experience. I'm new enough to all this to not know the history between Charlie and Paul but I'd have thought the opportunity to visit a working operation would perhaps reach a little above personal issues.

Plus I'm a bit of a hard-headed bastard - were I in Charlie's position I'd be tempted to show up to spite the object of my antipathy. :D

Sounds like a fantastic event. Paul has been working very hard to bring life back to the association.
