Yeah, good point Ronmaggi

The Laguna's have a very good reputation, though I've never had one myself yet.

I would say about a year. I have 2 Italian made Lagunas that are several years old and have never missed a beat, about a year ago I bought two more only to find that these ones were made in China. One of them died within about 2 months (was replaced under warranty) but the other one is still going.

Did you have to return it to place of purchase at your expense ?

Cheers

I'm thinking about buying this

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Jebao-CM ... 5ae8420f86

Anyone bought something similar? My other option would be

http://www.rockaroundtheblock.com.au/po ... -4500.html

but I like the cheaper price and better quoted performance of the ebay pump... both should be made in the same factory afaik.

Buy from the place where they can speak English and have a reasonable returns policy, and where they don't make silly claims in their description.. I don't buy much at all from ebay now a days..

I don't much care about their description, just the pump specs and price. I don't really envisage anything going wrong and if it does and they don't honour the warranty I'm happy to eat the cost of another pump.

I figure if pumps regularly failed within warranty, the manufacturers would be going bust.

On paper(specs and price) the ebay pump seems to be the better choice. Also looking at the Jebao website it looks like they use the same motors in the pumps as their volume, wattage and head figures are the same for a lot of them, just the casing and impeller are different? Either way it seems more efficient and with my $2000 power bill for last quarter, I need efficient.
