Peeing in your tank will provide ammonia that can take a few days to show up.

You can also add egg whites to help clear the water...

Hmm ok i'll give it a crack tonight..
Does it matter where they go? (SUMP/FT) ?

Ive got around 900L in ft, 500L in sump and 100 per gb (x4)
So maybe half a dozen egg whites?

Maybe 3 in the FT, 2 in the ST.

Post your findings, I believe you will see a difference by tomorrow. It helps to bind all the suspended solids.

If I wanted to implement a swirl filter into a chop system, where would it go?

SLO in FT overflows into swirl filter which discharges into GBs.

Hmm.. Would a bypass off the pump work? Then the filter would take whatever get thru the gb
Bit easier...?

I'm just after water clarity, not so much harvesting fertilizer

Assuming you have a limited space and don't have the room or the money to create a massive slow moving vortex which will drop out even the smallest particles, then you will have a filter which can only capture larger particles, so you'll be better off removing as much of the solids as possible before going through the GB and allowing the GB to capture the smaller parts.

In theory, the will be minimal (no) solids in the ST with pump, so directing some of the pump to discharge to the filter won't be the most effective action; the more water you can dump into the FT the better the solids lifting capability of the SLO.
