here lawn is solely to keep the dust down have very little intrest in it as my front lawn will attest to, theres more weeds in it than grass, have inlaws coming to stay for a week or so soon so they can make themselves useful and weed it for me, they are right into their lawn if it's not perfect they're out there, never got it myself unless your selling the place who really cares all it shows is that you have othing better to do...

The only reason i will have lawn in my own place when i get one is for a dog to use and as mulch

well this week all but two of the fingerlings died...
water parameters were pretty normal so i'm calling the cause stress from the land developing over my fence, they were directly behind my fence this week and the ibc is on that fence, you could see waves in the water from the vibration of the machinery all day, also the fish in my main tank (10meters from the fence) have gone off food... hopefully i can get some food in them this weekend

If the 20 odd still in the main tank don't start eating again then i might have to contact the developer but if they pull through then ill cut my losses with the littleuns and restock when they've finished laying the roads over the fence.

this is what i'm talking about so everyone can see it, the road base and the lighting/pipework all got laid this week as you can see pretty close to my IBC

You certainly have a legitimate case to request compensation from the construction company. Never hurts to ask, and they can only say no
You might just have to use goldies untill the lots (and then the road) near your fence are finished..

they came around before they started developing and gave us a contact number for any claims to damage we may have but i think that was more for structural damages to the house as they took pics of the house internal walls etc. not the backyard. the question would be is it worth the effort for $40 of fish.

One phone call might be all it takes to get $40 worth of fish. I guess it depends how much you need the $40
I reckon goldfish might be ok to use in the system in the meantime. What are you going to do ?

well the fish in the main tank are pretty much back ot full feed again, looked up the paperwork that we got and that says that they should have finished developing in JANUARY. useless buggers... have been emailing them and they can't even give me an estimate on finishing dates.
Have been pulling out our lettuces and giving them to mates cos we can't keep up with the plants. Have planted 4 apple trees in the main system from seed that germinated in the worm farm more for intrest than anything else, stuck some corn in both systems and the ground yet again to see what difference that water temp makes (the IBC sits steadily 5c above the main tank). fitted a float valve to the IBC tapped into the retic so i don't have to think about filling it. finished making an inverter to eventually run the whole lot off solar it's currently running off scrap batteries to see how the inverter handles low input voltage, now the fun of making a low voltage change over to a charger system, and a solar regulator.
