To the AP Forum,

I'm ducking out for awhile. I enjoyed the forum and the folks who I had PM contact with. I wish you all the best. My heart was very much in this and of late it has become difficult to manage reading all the posts and taking to much time. I have alot to learn, but I also have alot to accomplish with my system. I'll be back maybe the end of summer to update. In the meantime you all take care.

Best Regards,

Mike

will look forward to your return.

PS there is a setting in your profile for an "extended absence", maybe set that option MF, it informs people if they try and PM you.

Id say around the end of March start of April is when we expect no more snow to fall here in Iowa. So goes the old saying April showers bring May flowers. Seeing the growth from everyones systems sure helps keep the winter blues away, keep it up!

Really depends on what part of the country. summer is a lot longer in the south.

Growing up in St. Louis, we would expect the last frost around May 1st, (when we would transplant to the outside from indoor starts), and the first frost would hit sometime in early October. The summers were 100 degrees F, (38 C), and 100% humidity (without AC in our house), winters would get down to -10 F, (-23C) for days at a time. I now live in North Carolina, and our frosts are 2-4 weeks earlier/later (longer grow seasons), and our winters are milder, (-15C but usually not sustained). In St. Louis, we would usually get 1 deep snow per year (18" - 45cm), but we would often get 3-5 snows of 6" (15cm) or more. Here we get 1-2 snows (usually a dusting) and 2-3 ice storms per year (one of them today). I have also lived in Utah where it's a bad year if they don't have a good snow base at the ski resorts by Thanksgiving (end of November), and they have skiing in places through mid-May. My BIL used to joke that they have two seasons in Utah, Winter and the 4th of July.
