G'day everyone, I have a particular interest in breeding/selling yabbies. I'm looking foward to meeting some like minded enthusiasts.

Cheers :wave1:

Charlie will be along soon to tell you that the only practical, viable, and humane way of breeding yabbies for consumption is in earthen ponds or farm dams.

Though for small scale fun or sale to aquarium shops they a quite easy to do in standard aquariums.

Pick Charlie's brain if you are new to the yabbie breeding and need to learn fast.

Thanks guys, I am lucky enough to have 3 dams on my family property. I'm actually looking into breeding programs that could only really be done in tanks. Looks like this might be the place for some inspiration!

Cheers guys

I'm assuming you mean a hatchery style operation... with hormone induced spawning... then pond/dam grow out...

Australian native fish wont spawn in tanks... unless hormone induced...

What are the dams used for at the moment, what condition are they in, is there any particular reason you want to breed in tanks?
