heh, maybe I should wait till the new lease agreement is signed before I buy gravel ;)
We have requested it early for this reason.
Either way, when we eventually do move its not going to be fun !

took me 8 hours to move my system, 2 x 400L GB's, 2 x 800L FT's (which I had to bucket), long winded process. If you can get a forklift in your yard it would be much easier, I didnt have that luxury.

expansion update:
I got to B and got some PVC fittings and some 25mm pipe. I really wanted to use 32 or 40 to drain back to the FT but due to the extra cost and extra fittings required (25mm tank fitting to 32/40mm) I decided to stick with 25 all the way. Hopefully I dont get restricted flow/buildup etc.

The issue I have as previously stated is that I don't have much fall back to the FT (without needing a ladder to access the GBs) so I cut the tank fittings as short as possible.

Trial run, the clay bricks are just for testing purposes to get levels and to help sort out the plumbing. Was chatting to the neighbour after that and after giving them a couple of fistfulls of watercress, they gave me 4 besser blocks to finish it !
I also offered to stike cuttings etc for them. The GBs will be right on their fence and at that level so I will encourage them to try some cuttings, and take herbs etc...
Doesn't AP bring out the best in people ;)

All disassembled now and under the house.
After cleaning up all the melted plastic shavings on the cut edges of the IBC liner, I just have to clean the outside with some metho ready for painting !

2.5. drink beer :)
3. put holes and fittings in GBs and fit and test plumbing back to FT
3.5. drink beer :)
4. Paint GBs
4.5. drink beer :)
5. Buy 0.75m3 of gravel
5.5. drink beer :)
6. Shovel 0.75m3 of gravel into chest high GBs
6.5. drink beer :)
7. drink beer :)

I have a 17 year old and they are not cute, or fun. I can't wait till he is about 25.

Well the oldest is 17, and graduates in December. If he is not in college by this time next year I am throwing him out of the house. I will give them 6 months to figure things out once they graduate, but after that they are on their own.

How stable are those besser blocks stacked that high? A little lateral pressure looks like it would make a mess of your system.

@clarthepio
Thanks! Not sure if I want to put 700kg or so on plastic milk crates :D

@orcy2010
It kinda looks like that but you would be surprised how stable it is.
Some of the blocks are not even that flat on top so the ones above it rock a little. I tried to make them flat but some were still a bit "bowed"

Even without anything on top of the bricks they are quite stable. I made sure the base was as close to level as possible, and compacted a little.

When the GB was full of water I pushed on it and shook it as much as I could and rocked it back and forth and I couldn't budge it. It would take a fair bit of effort to push them over, like hitting them with a vehicle etc. That was just one, so with 2 of them right beside each other it will be even more stable. Im not sure how they will go long term with sinking etc, ill just keep an eye on the water level. The old FT and GB have tilted a little due to the off centre GB. and It sitting on clay bricks so the surface area isn't that great. I think it will be good for another year or so though, after that I will consider lowering it into the ground.
