Welcome. Great systems need to be close to the BBQ; can I suggest you put some cross braces on the legs of the blue barrel stands. Or brace each stand off the IBC frame.

Very neat looking system. I started with a system about the same volume wise. Hope you have room to expand :D

Thanks for the replies all.

I have just pegged some shade clothe underneathe to support the weight and yes I intend to put some braces on the timber frames. I knocked that up in an arvo... Had to shoot back to work. I was devistated. I just want to get this baby flowing!

Gotta be near the BBQ! I like the idea of fresh out of the bed on the fire....
Hmmm now
For the beer....!

Cheers up to Nath for the help. Picking up some rainbow trout from baldivas on Sunday.... 7 days a week operation they run their. How good is that.

I will be picking all of your brains as I am literally an absolute pleb with this.

Thanks and will keep u updated.

How big are the trout? You would want a good size to grow em out in time.

They seem to think they had a fairly good range, from 5cm-15cm. A little more expensive i know.

Should grow out by end of November. Hopefully my system adapts pretty quick. Will live and learn.

It was suggested to me, that I put some salt in to the water, the day before I put the fish in. Is this correct? and if so, how much salt should I put in? :dontknow:

Any help would be appreciated. :thumbleft:

I think it is usually recommended to salt to around 2:1000, so 2kgs of salt for 1000lt of water. So if your IBC will have say 700lt of water you would be looking at 1.4kg salt. Be sure not to use table salt or anything with anti-caking agents in it.
