My rainbows are probably from the same spawning/batch as yours but are much smaller. I underfeed mine because, with what I suspect is barely adequate filtration, I feel the need to be fairly cautious. It is great to look at your fish of the same age as mine and recognise the growth that can be achieved in a season of just a few months - if one has one's act together. Congrats again.

Thanks PLJ,
It doesn't matter how you do ,it just do it.
Trout are at their best from 250gm , it don't take much to get them there :thumbright:
I posted a pic last year, as it turns out to the day, of one at 450 , I was hoping for 500 this year. Never mind there is always next year

Yesterdays lunch - totally aquaponic, except the eggs that the chickens laid.

Wipped this baby out on Friday afternoon!

The last one that I pulled out (euthanased) on 22 May was only 250g (Check out my thread for the pictures). 10 weeks later and they are up around 600- 750+ gms

I've only had them on the 7mm pellets for about 2 weeks and already the flesh is getting pinker.

The fish is in the same plastic tray as the one I pulled out 10 weeks ago. Interestingly it is not much longer but is significantly heavier (its all the steriods in the 7mm pellet)

 What a trout! It is starting to look like a carp with that big round belly.

It reminds me of my aunt by the way.

Was it still edible?

:D :D :D :D

I was surprised that it was so full in the body. I have a few like that and others that are longer and more trout like. Maybe troutman is up to something and crossing the trout with ...?

or maybe EB has put steriods in the Skretting :-P

Steady Mantis even trout have feelings. I think it was horizontally challenged

I can't see why it wouldn’t be edible. It is a very solid fish. We were going to smoke it and eat it tonight but I was totally stuffed after spending the afternoon cutting firewood. Will probably have it for lunch tomorrow.

OK, said I was going to pull 10 out this weekend - turned out to be 13 - averaging around 350g. The two biggest were 400g each.

Yeah Marc, the flesh in my going pink - have been on the 7mm feed for about 4 weeks.
