Sounds nice Faye.

Can't believe you're not picking broccoli yet - it's been our main vege for the last few weeks - need to come up with some more ways using it.

:shifty: Like Faye said above, I've just seen the new blog/website on the saltwater aspects. really looking forward to following it. Seaweed - particulalry kelp - is huuuge in China, I eat it most days. Not sure how the forty foot will fit into a BYAP FT though!

Pulled out another 13 trout on Saturday.

They averaged about 350g each, with the two heaviest ones a little over 400g !

CD,

I've got an issue with my chilli plants (dirt garden)... hope you might have a solution?

All my different varieties are planted along the north facing wall in WA sand. They've flourished and fruited all year, except now the fruit is getting hotter and hotter with less and less flavour. We picked a couple of cayennes the other night to have on a pizza and even after de-seeding they were just too hot to be nice and added zero flavour to the meal.

Only rarely do they get watered and maybe a dose of Seasol even more rarely. More water perhaps? Fertilise? Is there a "fix" for overly-hot under-tasting chillis or should I just rip them out and chuck some more in? I'm not sentimentally attached to them, but if it's feasible to save them, I'd rather do that than starting again.

Chillies dont do well over winter ive found.

Mate, no easy answer. Try giving them a bit of love as you suggest. I have heard a lot of anecdotes about plants producing hot fruit when they are treated roughly/poorly. So, treat 'em nice and see if you notice them cooling down and flavour improving.

Water and fertilize then....

I'll see what happens with the next harvest, the current fruit will probably all go to becoming bug spray!

Our broccoli has been the winter hero for our AP. Haven't bought any for about 5-6 weeks and I still have three main heads to come through, followed by the side shoots. Which are getting to size now on the first plant I harvested.
