Thanks CC

all these WB's are being built on a very tight budget, so it will take some time to
complete all 15+

I got part of bed #2 built, but not connected yet....

using the 5/4 deck boards (1" thick) (3.5cm) means I only needed two rows of
2 x 4's but to make them all look the same I did three

supposed to start raining again..... so progress will slow up....

I have yet to add any water to WB #1 as the rain has kept it full.... on the other hand, even with this rain, I have had to water the beans in the dirt garden.....

The wicking bed soil will be more viable tan the in ground garden. Takes a while for the water to soak into mine and needs constant watering.

hey cc

do you mean you need constant watering when your first plant it out? do you have it mulched at least 2" deep?

since I built the first one, it's rained about every other day so havent needed to add any water, so I dont know how much water it will use in a week....

it just rained a few minutes ago...and the overflow is working great...

WB #2 will be planted out with seeds to see how they do

No problems with the wicking beds except in real hot weather. Sugar cane mulch and watering for the first week to ten days for seedlings. Use a seaweed extract to give them a boost.

The in ground dirt garden needs constant watering even with a thick mulch. Will be giving that away this summer as I can no longer kneel down or apply pressure to garden tools.

When the AP is up and running I will redo my wicking beds in a new position. At the moment I am setting up about six compost bins so I will have a good base for my soil in the new WB.

Love watching what you are doing excellent work.

Do you worry that with all that rain the nutrients will get washed out of the soil?
