My system has been running for over a week now and trying (LOL) to be patient with my fishless cycle. Have just completed test today and as follows.
PH 8.0
Ammonia 0.25 ppm
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0

Not sure if should sit on my hands and wait or should I be adding more ammonia.
Thanks for the welcome and peoples suggestions . :wave1:

When I first started system monday(30/07/2012). I put in a capful of seasol and charlie carp. Then on wednesday I added aged wee because I had read that you should let it sit for a week before adding and nothing else since then.

Ok... both should be, or have impacted.... urine can be delayed in showing as ammonia....

You could add some more.... but them wait another 2-4 days.. and test again...

Did you put castors on the GB ?
What are the castors bolted to? (thickness etc) and what do they run on. It is hard to tell from the pics. Could you take a few close ups if you dont mind ?
Does it actually roll full of media and water ?

Hello.
Did you put castors on the GB ? Yes. they hold 100kg each. so max is 400kg. With media and water I worked it out roughly around 250-280kg.

hope the pic's help. The castors are bolted to 60mm x 40mm x 1.2mm steel c-channel.

Does it actually roll full of media and water ? Yes you can roll it. I wouldn't say its light but a firm push and it rolls smoothly.

Not sure that its uni-strut????...... :dontknow: But I do know that it is the c-channel they use for the side of colourbond fencing. Because that what the steel is left over from. :laughing6:

It has been two days since last test.

Question. What size pellets does people start with? Do I get 4mm pellets and crush them up or buy a few sizes. I have spoken to someone who sells fish. Size ATM 3-4cm. Not sure if I will go with them would like to get slightly bigger fish. But depends on availability when the time comes.
Any thoughts would be helpful.
