Fair enough, did Wet Earth have anything?

Have you tried Uniseals? The website is always "Coming soon", but give them a call or drop them an email as they are really helpful. Here's a pic of them.

Although the 90mm uniseal is a bugger to install, uniseals are generally much cheaper and fairly foolproof to install.

Hi,

I'm in Melb/Australia - but instead of curved tank, mine's corrugated.. not sure a uniseal would work with that?

arbe -

With your Y pieces of plumbing (from the 90mm backbone to the growbeds) what size uniseal did you use?
I'm guessing 1" / 2.5cm ?

I'm going to go a similar system to yours -
6 GB's, 1600L tank, 2 sumps, pump in sump then grav slo fed to gb's, draining into sumps.

90mm slo / backbone going down to 1" taps into gbs

Not sure if your any good on a welder but you cut out a window in the side and weld in a flat plate to work with.

Or.. You can get 2" corrogated uniseals so you could have 2 SLO's instead of the 1 90mm.

Thanks for the reply - I need 90mm SLO's so i might have to just hack a hole and use lots and lots of silicone..

I am using 40mm uniseals at the hand offs and then stepping down to 25mm for the ball valve.

You could use 20 or 25mm uniseals there without a problem. I just happen to have 40mm uniseals so I used them.

Ideally, for a 90mm uniseal you need a 102mm holesaw. If you dont have one and don't want to go to the expense of purchasing one (a good one can set you back $75+) then marking a 102mm circle and cutting as neatly as possible with a jigsaw should be ok.

I have even used (20mm) for my stand pipes.

Sorry for a stupid question, but why use a uniseal? Instead of just using silicone ?

Uniseals work very well. I am not sure I would trust silicon.
