BYAP protein pellets.

Pellets are specifically formulated for optimum fish and plant growth.

My first trout harvest of the year - five fish averaging a little over 300g each.

Gotta reduce my population down to about 80 to allow me to grow them all out until October.

Nup, it's an ambidextrous glove.

Glove goes on my left hand to hold the fish, while the coordinated hand does the knife-work.

Aaah, the ol' ambidextrous glove. Almost as clever as the one size fit all.

Just a point worth noting here - the Skretting 5mm pellets I used last year still had the beta-carotenes in it. I know this as my fish were pink fleshed and I never used 7mm pellets then.

This year, the 5mm feed soes not appear to have the beta-carotenes in it as the fish I just harvested had white flesh. I'd heard rumours about this but wasn't sure.

I've just switched over to 7mm pellets so will monitor the change.

In an email from Skrettings I was told that yes only the 7mm has the beta carotenes and that the fish will colour up in about 8 weeks on this food.

Hmm. Mine not even on 7mm yet so I guess its white trout for me... When do people in Perth ususally harvest trout? This is my first year and wondering how much time is left in the season.
