Hay Ryan, I gave some one from The Recirculating Farms Coalition a link to your web site. They were looking for Aquaponic farms here in Florida. They were looking for people willing to talk to the press should the press.

I was in at the counter today and I told Jerry that some of the pictures you post from the systems are like vegetable porn, he seemed to think that was rather funny. You do great work Ryan.

Thx Scotty!

And thx TC! So funny, Jerry's a good ol guy. He seems to be turning into my new AP tour guide for our demo farm in Apk. And thanks for passing on my name to the recirc group, I have no problems spreading the word :)

I actually met with a gentleman yesterday from Curaçao that was saying he met with over the weekend :)

Alright, off to work.

Are the rafters made of gold or did I miss the pot of it in that rainbow picture?

Congrats on the promotion!

Well it's update time,

Ive cut all of the 1' long sections of 4 x 6 to attach to the rafters but that's about it since the last post. I've been super busy at work and have been laying irrigation around my property so that I can start planting out all of my fruit trees (fig, several types of banana, lychee, longan, jaboticaba, passion fruit, grapes, hops, cherimoya, atemoya, cacao, dragon fruit, raspberries and 8 other bramble types, pears, a few select orange varieties, about 30 other varieties of sub tropical fruits that you probably haven't heard of). They will take a while to mature but I would rather go ahead and get them in the ground now... Time flies these days :)

Also in the midst of gathering supplies to build the bee hives. I'm hoping to finish the barn within 2 weeks and then I will buy my fish tanks and start building out the inside of the greenhouse.

Hay Ryan, Do you have any insight about getting the ag exemption here in Lake County yet? Do you know how picky they really are. The forms and paperwork to fill out makes it seem that it isn't that easy asking for business plans and receipts and all and wanting to know exactly what crops are being grown and the market for them etc.

I hope to actually meet you one day and see your systems in person. The plants I've seen pictures of are always gorgeous.

I'm going to have to Google the names of most of those plants. Glad you know what you are doing.

Not yet TC, I got in really cheap and taxes aren't bad so I
Haven't even looked at it yet. I'll let you know when I do. And I'll definitely have you out sometime if I ever get this thing finished!

I've got a ton of pictures from the past few weeks so I'll try to get some up this weekend!

Did I mention it's scorching hot out? High 90's every day and rain every afternoon!

I've also begun training for the Florida Ironman 70.3 next may so that is also taking up some free time. I'm feeling good, strong, healthy and motivated. Hoping to finish the barn roof this weekend and then order in the metal roofing next week.

Ryan, you certainly have more energy that I do. The heat has been doing a number on me.

Sitting in Atlanta waiting for a plane....

Heading back from the aquaculture engineering societies conference in Va. They had a really good AP session yesterday and I presented some new stuff. Good crowd, smart people. A lot of the bigger aquaculture facilities in the US are taking a serious look at adding an AP component to their existing farm which for me is extremely exciting :)

Sorry about the lack of pics, I'll try to get some up soon. The wood for the barn is a done deal, next step is putting on the metal roof.

We also have a hurricane expected to head up our west coast on mon/tues so ive got to try to secure the rooftop greenhouse I manage and then lock things down at my place. Gotta love Fl!
