Yes... figuratively... my 'Bream' are really hungry bastards...

Yeah sorry about the confusion, I must 'try harder' to be more clear. Its all good. I wish you could get piranha though, not the eat the hand that feeds you kind. Speaking of which my Barra bit me today (no blood), had some food residue on my hand and it was a bit too quick for me. He seems to go for anything now.

He'd never go for it... my cats are too fussy. Yes, you heard right two cats. Not my idea.

Hey does anybody now what is happening when the barra's stripe begins to fade to brown? Before I did my tank clean today, his stripe was almost invisible, then after I cleaned the gravel and sump/filter, it was back to bright white...

I just read today that Black Bream in the moore river are slower growers than the Swan River variety. So the moore river variety can reach sexually maturity at 14.5 cm. My biggest is 16.5 cm long. He/She has really been defending its territory. I also caught it digging a hole by sucking up the gravel in its mouth and spiting it out. It would be awesome, but unlikely if they end up breeding.

Read the stripe thing in Barra was stress related... can't remember who posted it though... maybe Jaymie

Interesting, I will have to do a search for it. He is a bit shunned by the Bream, but they know not to mess with him.

yeah, the stripe is first age related, as they get bigger it fades. Then it is also stress related. When the barra is calm, the stripe fades. Make him clean his bedroom and the stripe is very bright :)

Just thought I'd put my 2 cents worth in, my goldfish are also known as 'The Piranhas' :laughing6: seems appropriate at feed time, hence 'Savage Goldfish'! :laughing6:
