It's a 12" Werdna... and I haven't used it much in the last 12 months... certainly not through summer which was just a wash out... but we're settling into some good clear crisp nights...

I was originally looking at a 6", then realised the 8" is only $100 more, then noticed the 10" is only $200 more than the 8", then looked at the 12"... and decided I needed to draw the line somewhere :)

Love the moon shot, one day I'll get myself a refractor telescope and get some good shots

Sorry werdna, but I got it even before reading the description.

I think I may have posted these in the Intro section, but sharing again for the sake of sharing again.

This is one of my two aquariums. It's a CADE CB900 setup. Tank measures 900x500x500 (225L) and is made of 10mm Opticlear glass. Has all the bits; 6x39W T5HO lights, AquaOne Advance 1250 canister, UV, 17mm iFlo glass "Lilypipes". Pics are actually a bit old and it's need of a rescape...but anyhoo.

I have some photos from when I was convinced I was cool :)

I should dig them out :)

That moon shot is great.

I tried one once, and ended up adding toilet rolls and a gaffer taped 10 times converter to my 400 mm lens to get a result that almost, nearly filled 2% of the frame :)

It's funny the way people (like me) think you can take a picture of the moon. Just because it looks like you can see it, doesnt really mean it's all that big at all. In the end I got some kind of result in the dark room by turning the enlarger 90 degrees and projecting the length of the dark room onto the wall 10 feet away :)

I cant remember how long I exposed the paper in the end but I think it was 30 minutes* or something to get an image.

It was shot on XP1 (a film that had 5 colour layers but all of them were black. This meant yuou could get it developed at your local chemist but it was black and white. It was also marketed as variable contrast based on the length of exposure. The longer you exposed it, the more contrast you got)

That stuff was wonderful.

I miss film, but you've got to love being able to take a thousand photo's for the cost of a battery charge.

Yeah, ended up with the 12"
I couldnt help myself :) The 14:" was on sale and only $300 more expensive, but I didnt really want the accompanying hernia :)

Camera is my Nikon D90 with a T Mount on a 2x Barlow.

I took a photo of it with my phone.
