Hi I have been running an Aquaponic system since about January I have 30 Blue Tilapia.

These things eat like crazy.

I have been trying to find feed for a decent price locally in NY. I cannot seem to find a place close to me that may sell for a good price. Does anyone on here know of a place I can get pellets from in NY or recommend some alternatives. I'm growing duckweed in my yard and in my sump but that only grows so fast. I'm going to try and start a worm farm but both of these things I don't think are sustainable for the space I have.

If you can drive to a tracktor supply in New Jersy side, you can buy chicken feed and feed them that.
Except fish, I also have chickens. After reading what they put in chicken feed, I tried it on my Tilapias, it seams they eat it real well.
So now, I am getting chicken starter feed and they like it a lot.
I feed them 3 different food. I make one type myself, and that is mixture of soya beans, corn, whole wheat, milk powder, eggs, and garlic; all pulverized in a Vitamix.
Second type of food is, floating fish food from tracktor supply, and the third type of food is, chicken feed from tracktor supply.

Check this out, the price is just right! And the nutritional value is real good too.

Good pricing but WOW almost 2 hour drive to get there... if I don't find a closer place I guess it's going to be field trip with the kids.
