ok week 7 update . :wave1: hello im back !
i just got back from a 2 week holiday :D had my dad feeding the fish and harvesting the lettuce for me while i was away . all was ok apart from him feeding to much :P . i think i could posibly increase feeding now but i dont have enough plants takng the N out of the system :( disadvantage of having a small system i spose ...
Major problem at the moment is that the clear pipe that i was using for my pump outlet ,has aglea in it reducing the water flow and putting strain on the motor . i will have to replace in on the weekend due to lack of funds :P ( great holiday though ) so i gave the pipe a roll around in my hands to try to dislodge the algea growth , works a bit better now . check out the video :)

oh yeah and i had to tape down the plants due to the the wild wind and storms in week 5 just before i left ! :upset:

Anywhere you have nutrient rich water and light, you're going to get algae (but not all of that gunk is bad algae, some of it is going to be bio-film). If you cannot afford to replace the clear pipe, just wrap it up in duct-tape to block the light.

On another note: I have been sailing all of my life and spent nearly 18 years in the Navy and have never been seasick. I haven't been well recently so I didn't start watching the video in the best condition, but the weird camera angles and the rotations actually made my physically sick! Nice work with the AP system, but maybe not so with the camera ;)

24 knots? That's a moderate summer sea breeze and great weather for sailing on the Swan river!

well its been awhile since i updated this and put in a video ... but to be honest it all looks the same :P i have been a human lawnmower and have been keeping the lettuce down . i am harvesting 3 salads worth of cos lettuce per week :) ... the icebergs have hearted up a little bit and are prob around 1 inch in heart .

i did put the new pump outlet hose on 5 bucks for ten meters from B ,its the same stuff as ur washing machine has at the back of it , clipped right onto th back of the pump :) easy.

i have had problems with dripping of water around the middle pvc where it has been bowing ,but i have been siliconning the sides up and this is stopping it .

i still havnt found the 2 yabbies at the bottom of the perch tank ... if they are still alive :S

the 7 perch have grown but i still dont think they need a new home yet . i still feed them once per day , plus some lettuce leaves some days.

i was thinking about removing the 2nd 210 liter container that the fish tank is stacked ontop of and use that as a sump next to it with a pipe going through the side at the top of the tank .

thats about it really , it pretty much takes care of itself :) easy .

oh yeah and there is the 5 ibcs that are around my partners parents house ready for next years project :D

well i found 1 yabbie last week .... it had one leg and one claw left :P i put him back up in the top tank . i also managed to catch a couple of SP's one was 130 mm and the other was 140 mm :D huzzah ... is that a good growth rate ? i think this weekend will be week 10 . i bought them at 100 mm - 110 mm
i only feed once per day :)
i am just stoked that they are starting to look like fish and not fingerlings :)

i have also got some pics but they are too big :/
whats a good way to make them smaller ?

I have all of my pictures on google+ and just put in a link. Google seems to automatically resize them for me :)

Was all of that stuff in the net scooped up from the bottom of the tank?
