Most likely an iron deficiency.... get some chelated iron... and add a scoop...

What's your pH... 7.2+...

quick question. didnt really think it needed another thread. i've always made a little rusty water for yellowing plants in the dirt. i just allow a metal scrub pad to sit in some water then pour a little into a larger water bucket to dilute it then pour it on my plants. seems to have always worked. so just wondering if this can be used in very small quantities in aquaponics? or does this just kill fish?

I also have this problem with my indoor system mrkontra. I am yet to find a reason. I am using LED grow lights though. I also give an occasional dose of worm tea. Nothing seems to make these plants want to grow. I am close to giving up on herbs and getting an indoor low light plant.

Don't give up on the herbs!... give up on the LED's!!!

My biggest problem to date has been growing plants indoors. I really dont want to use high wattage grow lights and so far i have found that the LED lights do little more than keep the plants alive.

Yep!... ESPECIALLY the cheapo ebay ones. I have lost count of how many customers have quizzed ne about LED's, not taken my advice to save their money (or buy a CFL), bought the LED's then binned them after a few months.

I only have one customer that's having any success with LED's and he's running a 450w array from an American manufacturer... not exactly power saving and the results still aren't up to HID (HPS or MH) levels. Also, the 450w array he bought retails in Oz for up to $1600 and the US for about $900

Over your aquarium system a 130w Compact Fluoro (CFL) in 6400k would work a treat on herbs and small leafy greens like fancy lettuce.
