2000L tank
only a week old today, has had plants and fish for 5 days
only 11 rainbow trout .... make that 10..... dam birds got one ,now the tank has netting
anyway went out and brought a freshwater test kit API
ph 7.6
ammonia 0.50 ppm
nitrite 0ppm
nitrate 0ppm
not all that shore on what that means? but the system seems to be running well fish look happy and feed well , the plants look a little flat tho :/
plans are to add an extra 30 rainbow trout when i can ?

i have been feeding 2 pellets per fish per day , what would you recommend?

I'd do it after adding the extra 750L of grow beds required for filtration.

As your new system has only just started the cycling process, go lightly with the feeding. Fish can go for weeks without feeding, but too much ammonia and nitrites will kill them before you can say, "WTF!" The fish have been doing their bit to generate the ammonia; you need to give the beneficial bacteria time to establish themselves in sufficient numbers to deal with the load placed on them. At this time of year this is going to be 6-8 weeks.

That is a great looking setup, jordy! It looks like your fish tank is in a good spot to hang a bug zapper for some additional organic snacks for your fish.

cheers bunson ill try and sort out another grow bed the one i have is 500L , i have been doing the seasol . and ill put the fish on a diet wonce a week sound right ?

PLJ yer i have 2x bug zappers i plan on hanging off the house , just waiting on my sparky mate to bang a power point in
