I buy my dogs fancy natural meat main ingredient dog food. Can i use this to feed my catfish.

Or, would mealworms and insects that fall into the pond naturally be sufficient.

Thanks!

the dogfood might be ok in a pinch, but get fish food (low protein recommended for catfish, around 36% protien)
fish food has all the nutrients that your fish need,, as opposed to the dog food..
i fed minnows crumbled up cat food for a couple weeks

I noticed that dog treats made in China were implicated dog deaths but still had not been recalled. Some were made for Purina in China. Purina also makes trout chow, hmm. Wonder if anything is safe? Might be time to shop for a local brand.

I used to feed my catfish kangaroo and they loved it

The larger ones would come up to the surface for the meat and the small ones would go into a frenzyed attack on the bottom of the tank ....used to be good viewing.....

what I did learn was the catfish needed to be hungry and they wouldn't eat all the time like other fish . Good luck. i would give it a go :D

I've fed my fish dog biscuits many times in the past when I've run out.

Used to buy trout feed that was basically the same as dog biscuits. Made by a feed maker who made dog biscuits and trout pellets, the trout pellets looked like dog biscuits and smelled like dog biscuits..
