One concern - The siphon action you are experiencing- is that going to kill your pump? If that's a concern, you may want to put an anti-siphon valve in, and run the pump to a T, use a venturi, and let the backflow go around the pump instead of through it.

I think I understand your concerns, the backflow through the pump could affect the motor as the vanes rotate in reverse. I think the pump is a magnetic drive but I'll check. Thanks for the input.

6 goldfish supplemented with a weekly teaspoon of Thrive and I flush the worm farm (foam box between GB's). The zucchini's are already flowering with small fruit (4cm) developing. I swear I can see the growth difference between morning and night.

Last night we had quiche using that spinnach and our chook eggs. I even refill using water from my 14,000 litre tank.

I have five days off and I plan to begin my extensions to add a 1500 litre tank and 10 more grow beds, keeping the 2:1 (water/growbed) ratio.

Damn, I'm happy :) Touch wood ...

VB, absolutely. It was Aquasol that Murray added to his system and killed his fish, not Thrive. I hope Murray replies and confirms this but I'm sure I heard right whilst at his place. Seasol is OK too.

OK, I take your word and admit my error, I didn't see the box. Maybe goldfish are tougher than Jades but probably not as tastey. Either way, my system is going/growing strong at the moment.
