Multiexperiment :) i guess the little guys needed some fun and swam into the ocean ;)

Did you try soaking the pellets in the fish guts, and feeding only with that?

I'll be soaking my ass here : http://maps.google.si/maps?q=MORAVSKE+T ... a=N&tab=wl
And i'd like to buy some fingerlings (100g fellas would be perfect) for my system. Send me some contacts please, and i really hope they speak english, else i'm a dead fish in the water.

Soaking the pellets doesnt really work as these pellets get wet and melt really quickly, but I'll try with an otherone.

Hmmm 100g catfish fingerlinks are not easy, as they are only available when they are netted. I'll give you a list tomorrow, but dont be to excited about it. If no succes fresh new fingerlings will surelly be available end of may or june.

Hello Zsazsa!
Great system and thank you for sharing your journey with us. I read through it all today and picked up many pointers, particularly using the 90s instead of ball valves to save $!! Big win!
Are they still working correctly?
Brian

On "Elbow Taps" :)

- Yes the taps still work correctly, they get a thin layer of algea but its easy to clean them maybe every 2-3 mounth.
- Both front and back irrigation pipes has a section without support which is almost 2m-s long (the others are arround 1m). This is too long and the pipe cant support the weight of the water inside, so its hanging ~1cm under the correct level. This makes some fishpoo build up in that section. This by time lessens the water to the taps behind the section. I could add a support but Im lazy, as the cleaning is as simple as closing the taps before the section and the clogging pushed out by the water in a few secconds. I have to do this once maybe every 6 week.
- The leveling of the pipe is the key for reliable operation! Its unnecessary to level the GBs!

Welsh catfish are hard-core trouble maker, all out anti-regime, compulsive system weak point seakers.

Earlier this week they maganed to block all the intakes of the SLO, and as a result cause an owerflo on the FT. So HSM to enter the greenhouse next morning. Sumps where down with minimum water. Thanks to angler friends I ran a multispecies AP recently.

I had the zander and a perch in sump #1, ~250gr each. They were left 5cm of water, and they made it.

I had 4 Carassiuses (~250-600gr) and 6 grass carps (less then 10cm) & a baby perch in sump #2. They were left with 3cm of water, Carassiuses were laying on the rides, but all made it.

I had the last 6 trouts 420-620gr in sump #3. They survived the catfishes last anti-regime suicide outrage, they were left with 2cm of water. Still this time the catfish couldnt succed, as one stayed alive. The smallest one. It is one of my favorite one dough as it has the right eye missing, so hi is easy to track in the tank as he swimmes the other way round, keeping the missing eye towards the side of the tank and the good one towards the rest of the place.

In between the two attack against the system the catfish the catfish tried not to leave the system without daily dead fish. So some of tham succesfully starved their self to death. I lost 10 catfishes in the last two week.

So bottom line I still have 31 anti-regime bastards, but these do eat (fish pieces), and I let the last half eyed, thirst for revenge trout to join them in the main FT as a policeman.

I have changed the SLO to 63mm diameneter with bigger holes on the bottom, so now its imossible to block.

I havent gave up on those catfish bastartds, still try to give tham the best I can, but they should become a decent inhabitats of the system, they should learn to eat, what I give and when I give it, these are the rules, and I bet they will f.ck it again!

Its just a matter of time... :D

We have crazy weather, nothing is like it should be. Yesterday was over 30C as it should be in august. As the sun is lower the greenhouse temp rased to 36 arround noon, but it quickle fall after the sun fallen from the peak.

I have trouble with ants, the found the way to the growbeds and spreading aphis around.
Besides that I have succes with plants as water temp is ~16C plants being harvested, and replanted frequently. I even have some specials in the system have raspberry, blackberry, graphes, apple, plum, sour cherry, they all seem to be fine and busy growing leaves and roots. :)

Sorry for no pictures this time.

Take care! :wave1:
