I cook it like that cause I`m lazy and hate dishes!
It works a treat for spinach and cabbage, but the cabbage goes in freezer bag with butter, pepper and thin sliced ham for about 1-2min or until just soft.

Well here it comes, we are starting to heat up in Kal, yesterdays temp 41degC
today 43degC and a prediction of 45-47degC by Sunday  .
Checked the tub temp yesterday and was at 31.6 at 17:00, the goldies and my single bream don't seem to be suffering, still moving about eating anything in their paths but if the temp rises much more who knows.
The swampy bleed off is going back under the tub tomorrow in a vain attempt to get some cooling and I'm sourcing foam esky lids to float in the tub to keep the heat out.
If we do get to 45 or 47deg I might even start dumping small quantities of ice in the tub to try regain control?
February is the kicker though as we get the serious heat then.

P.s. the poor yabbie carked it  But I feed her to the fish :)

Hi Gnash, that is some unbelievable heat. If you can situate the ice where there is good water flow, I think that would be OK in limited quantities. The thing to be careful of is not to create cold spots. Also, be sure the water that the ice was made of does not have chlorine/cloramine, or just use small enough quantities that it can dissipate.
