S 77-
Dissapointed not to have caught up while you were here!!!

Went marroning last night, caught the limit had heaps of fun and was able to suggest to the crew how they could better care for the local habitat and inhabitance(?).
The M/R river was looking good with the image of the commet over the water way.
...and don't think the water was acid!!!(another post)
C1-- maybe next time S77

Correct me if I am wrong, isn't marroning in Margaret river banned? I think it was due to the new species of marron they found...

Its only banned upstream from the township due to the area being the only known habitat for the hairy marron. C1 was probably poaching someones dam!

See above link C1, says no marroning upstream of 10 mile brook junction. I think you are getting as bad as TimC as he always breaks the fishing rules!

I have been a protector of the marron spots for more than 20 years.
Collecting other ppls rubbish and taking nasty traps and stuff that endanger other water creatures.
Don't ever think I would do such a thing as to illegally marron! or not take good care of My environment
These are MY water ways as much as yours and those of your childrens kids.

C1: Not sure if you got the futurama reference or not...

Troutman: That was once, never kept an undersize anything before, recently. And it is not like I was going to eat it. Unlike other fisherman, that you see about.

It was banned because of over fishing and the discovery.! Also the MR river is not the only water way in the region, most rivers have many tributaries prolly hundred Ks or more X 2 sides of the river

Pays to check the regs before you make accusations that may offend!

Quoted by troutman--C1 was probably poaching someones dam!

[glow=red]Troutman[/glow]--That may have been said in jest I will forgive you this time but making public comments in a public forum as you have done can some times end up in the supreme court.

My rant over--

C1

Sorry C1, I should have re read the whole paragraph. I didn't say you were fishing illegally, just curious about the MR situation, although reading it now it does sound like it was implied, sry. It should have been in 'the' Margaret River too.

Troutman... one word of caution... keep a close eye on that shadecloth... You'll be surprised at how quickly it will clog and the water needs another route to leave the tank.... Not that i've ever seen that happen..

Your right Poppa the shadecloth did start to clog up after only about 1 week and water flow out of the system slowed. Seems like I will have to clean it weekly until the marron grow a little and then I can put a screen with a larger holes over it.

C1, yeah I was only stirring you up. At least now we know that your secret marron spot is within 6km of town!!
On a more serious note, have you ever come across any of those hairy marron?? Or are they confined to the upper reaches?
