Just found this story about couple Christopher Toole and Anya Pozdeeva, two former New York bankers who founded the Society for Aquaponic Values and Education (SAVE). *trash cans = garbage bins for non-US readers.
Here's another link on their project.
Anyone heard or read about these guys? Looks like they're doing some good stuff... But $275 for an IBC seems a bit steep. Is that new or second hand?
:?

Wow they have really jumped on the AP bandwagon, considering they have only been in it a year its scary they are teaching students. An education society?

And they are flogging everything....even the fish water...WTF!

Totally agree. Aquaponics really seems to be taking off.
It's good that it's popular and that aquaponics is being promoted but I'm with Charlie on this one. It looks like they're going a bit too far, too fast. Perhaps some kind of accreditation is necessary, or perhaps every time we see someone offering aquaponics training we should take it with a grain of salt and double helpings of skepticism :dontknow:

Hehehe. Fish water! Mmmm. It has therapeutic qualities too, didn't you know? It can remove excessive weight around your hips, specifically in your wallet area. Actually that's a load of trash!

Hey! I live in NY and would love to start AP. you can get an IBC for cheaper like 150 for food grade lol. I thing at that price it's for the people who want to rush in and not do their homework :)
