Well I've been thinking for a long time that I was ready to go upscale.
I've done all the important checks
1) Missus
2) Finances
3) Hardware
Everything checks out ok most of the time and here I go.
Because I'm still renting the whole system needs to be able to be shifted at short notice, I'm lucky that I've got some good mates in the earthmoving game with trucks and watercarts so if i have to move it's sorted.
I'm hoping to be able to make the system gravity feed and use only one pump, but if it does not work well i will have the room to add equipment as needed.
The tank will be placed in the old outside laundry/toilet after I've shifted the dividing wall and fitted another door to seal it up, that way I can gain some temp control later down the track.
The grow beds will be at the back with the pipe work going through the back wall.

an AP system can only improve that space
What species will you be keeping? Some shade cloth too methinks.
Good spot with lots of space for expanding. :)

I'm hoping to put a greenhouse over the growbeds, I've been scabbing around building sites looking for relevant materials and have found some good stuff.
When i figure out how to post google sketch i will post my design.

Your right about space improvement Jaymie, the only thing growing out there at the moment is CALTHROP ( double gees) These are the good ones that go right through your thongs (flip flops for Americans)
I'm hoping to go Barra but Black Bream is more avalible to me and is free.

I think we call them goatshead burrs.

Free fish are good, are the bream good in warmer conditions? I know we have black bream up here, but I don't know if it is the same species.

They (bream) seem to be, but in saying that I had alot of difficulty acclimatizing them to my tub, lost 10 outta 11  .
I've learnt a valuable lesson though and it won't happen again :?

Header tanks.
The plan is to pump water to them, when they get to certain level they will drain(either auto siphon or toilet cistern) and hopefully gravity will do the rest.
I'm also hoping for thermal mass in winter as we get frosts here.

I think Black Bream is a local name for Sooty Grunter......which is (I think) a Queensland fish.

thanks Gary, I was just remembering the yummy ones we caught and ate up on the Cape when I was a kid. We caught them and catfish out of the Archer River near Coen, baked them in the coals....mmmmm yummmo :)

I can't remember them grunting. Do they grunt the same as mangrove jack (grunter)?
