How many plants that are necessary for the purification of water for each One Fish
as we say ....numbers ... plants / fish And be general rule....thanks for all

Different plants take up different amounts of nitrates from the water. It is more critical that ammonia and nitrites get converted to nitrates. That is where the volume of your grow beds and the maturity of you bacteria matter.

It also depends on the type of fish and how much you're feeding them. This last winter I waaaay overplanted, but didn't realize it until too late. I would say if you want to get a feel for it, start w/ fewer plants and if you're seeing good growth and your nitrates are still high, go buy some seedlings and add. Like 4xjbh says, fish can handle a lot more nitrates than amm and nitrites. If you're wondering for planning/yield purposes, just look in the member systems pages, find some systems that are producing nicely and look at how many fish they are stocking.
