Hey Guys

Using some of the info available online and converting the available info to metric figures, I have rigged up a trout feed calculator. Anyone willing to give it a shot and see how well it works based on what you currently feed your trout.

Does anyone know how to upload an excel document?

OK,I tried to add an XLS and a PDF file, then I tried a Word file and a Text file. All to no avail.
The only thing I was able to attach was a jpg file. I deleted it though.

Do you have any place you can put the spreadsheet online so we an download it from there?

Regards,
Tony

Just getting started with 25x trout fingerlings so would love to test it out for you. Ask one of the moderators how u might upload it...or u could rename the file extension to .jpg which allow the upload.

It is a functioning spreadsheet so it wouldn't be much good as a jpg. I'll see if I can upload it anywhere

Easy to attach almost any type of file, just zip it first... It's a safety thing for the website.

You've got three values you need to enter in the top three cells A2, B2 and C2
Trout No: The number of trout you have in the FT
Weight (kg): Click on the hyperlink and use the calculator on their website to get the correct value
Value: Using your water temp and fish length use the below spreadsheet to work out what value to enter.

The value in the trout feed per day section will calculate automatically

Once I have time I'll develop it to the point where all you have to do is enter your fish number, length and water temp

Can't enter anything, is it locked??

Of course there should be the additional note added, that if the fish aren't hungry then don't feed them anything. That may seem obvious to most, but you'd be amazed how many people we find that don't know it.

If you click on File and Download As > excel file then you can edit it. Interesting

Ok, I've rejigged it so you only have to put the fish length in instead of following the hyperlink by creating a complicated formula based on trout weight estimated from length and girth

I have been feeding my 25 trout about 1 Tablespoon and a bit twice a day since they arrived last week.

The trout feed calculator advises to feed 25 grams per day. 1 Tbs of 3mm feed weighs about 10 grams so it looks like I have been feeding my trout pretty much what the calculator recommends.

Has anyone else had a go ?
