I'm just getting started in aquaponics. Building a greenhouse and have a small start with IBC fish tanks and some growbeds. Adding more every week.

Hello - we are originally from Okla. (still own farm ground there) but we've been in SW Arkansas for over 30 years now. We're trying to decide what fish to go with and will be interested in what you end up using since our climates are pretty close to being the same. I want something like a sun perch that is indigenous to this part of the country. We have a big lake close to us and there is bass, perch, catfish, etc. in it. But I don't like catfish. I *do* like bass - do they do well in an AP? They eat perch, don't they?

We just purchased about 50 catfish from http://www.moorefishfarm.com/ in Inola, ok. It was supposed to be 50 however when we got them out and counted one at a time it was 117 so I'm a little concerned about having too many for the 2 grow beds I have setup. I've had them for 4 days and they are doing great and started feeding well. I have 2 fish tanks and 2 grow beds setup in my garage just to get started until I complete my outdoor greenhouse. We plan to put 4 more gravel grow beds in the greenhouse and experiment with some raft beds next. I'll post a few pics of what I have so far.

I think the site I use is resizemypics.com. Save the resized pic and insert it into the forum just under the typing editor click the browse button under upload attachment. Find the saved resized pic and upload it to your thread. :thumbright:

My fish supplier does the same thing to me. My hundred Channel Cats turned into over 150 or more. I transfered 130 to my big pond and still had 7 in the fish tank. I had a hundred Blue Gills in the same tank also but some got to be fish food cause there was only 87 when I did the transfer.
