you might need a little more bracing in the middle of those barrels...

The support is just in it's preliminary stages. I just needed to come up with an action plan for getting them to the proper height.

Hey, nice bend on the PCV. But I don't see any scortch marks. Hhhhmmm Maybe I do need to work on my patience a bit more.

Coming along nicely.

The scorch marks are subtle, but there! Luckily they will all be on the bottom if the inlets. The shaping part is not so bad, filling 1/2" PVC with sand is tedious. 1 1/4 fills nice and easy.

Getting there... I still need to pick up another IBC. I'm not sure if I am going to go back to the same place I got my first, or if I am going try and find a good one for less. I also need to order my pump. Then it is more plumbing, then gravel, then, then, then...

Try to find one for less then if one doesn't get found in time go to the place you got your first.

This plan works with women as well... at least untill your first finds out you were looking for one for less.

As specific as people are about their IBCs around here, one might be more surprised at how much more picky I was about women. I came up with this crazy criteria, that I thought would take years to find, and I found her at twenty. An Italian, ballet dancer, a couple of years older than me, with a good relationship with her father. I'm still the luckiest man I know.

Just finished shaping the round barrel inlets. No holes drilled yet, but they are the shape I want.

Last night I worked on additional support for the horizontal growbeds. I cut 19" pieces of 2x6 and fastened them at the uppermost part of the arc that I had cut out of the cradle 2x6's. They are angled in such a way that the 6x8 cinder blocks don't touch them. I got the work done while my wife was working, and she had the camera, so no pics yet...

I have been working on the return plumbing from the growbeds. I had my first affnan experience. One word: SUBLIME!

So I thought I would save a little money by ordering a used Maxflo 2400 from amazon. The package arrived today. All excited I opened it up and noticed that the pump is loosely in the cage. So I opened up the cage and low and behold... It was a Maxflo 600 put into a Maxflo 2400 cage. Luckily Amazon has a good return policy. They emailed me the return label, and my account has already been credited. This time I ordered a new in the box one.

No to the green house. The HOA does not allow structures in the patio area above the fence line. It is a pretty laid back HOA, but I don't wanna cause waves. I may do some sort of hot box over the grow beds. Frost is exceptionally rare here, as I am at sea level in San Diego. My cherry tree did go dormant over the winter, but citrus bears fruit year round. Also, the local tilapia seem to have no problems with the coldest it gets here.

BTW, looking good is quite the compliment coming from you, JT! Your builds are an inspiration to many.

I finished all of the buried plumbing today. I also made all of the siphon bells for the rest of the affnans. A combination cutter/grinder blade for the grinder sure makes cutting the crenelians easier.

Only Kermit the Frog could express what I was feeling inside! So I was able to test all of the Affnan siphons, they all worked. Not a big surprise, as they kick a$$ and take names. I was waiting to test the rest as my sump was getting kind of full... It is good to be able to take water out as it was flowing in.
