The only risk I see is if there is a leak. They were found and sealed. I am just happy that the digging is over!

I don't believe there is room for an upgrade. Everything that is buried is so that there will be room for the system.

I've gotten a start on the sump cover. It is basically a 2x4 deck. I cut up 2 8 foot 2x4's but the sixth piece is too short. I was using 2x4's from another project, but now I have to buy another one to finish the cover.

I just had the realization that I have one less day to work on my system. Darn family obligation on Sunday, something about a holiday or something...

Okay, so I lost a day of work to family obligations, the good news is that my father had a scrap of 2x4 that is long enough to finish my sump cover. Once that is finished, I'm going to start on cutting the grow beds, and work on their frames.

Some pictures of today's progress, I finished the sump cover.

I also cut my grow bed barrels. They are roughly placed in their locations except for on the right two are stacked. One of those is for the front of the town home. I found that a combination of the jigsaw and grinder worked best. I actually had one cutoff wheel break on me, the top part of the barrel is too tough for the grinder. However, the grinder makes quick work of the sides.

Gee, you are putting much work in your project.
Without having read all entries, I assume the property is not rented.
Anyone will appreciate the care you take in this set up.

Thank you, yes I own. It is a planed unit development, so I actually own the land too. If it was a rental, I would probibly just do a small barrel-ponics setup.

Update for this week. Yesterday I decided to take as a family day, we went to Day At The Docks and opening day at San Diego Yacht Club. Not that I am a member there, we just snuck in so that we could tour the tall ships Californian, and America. America is a replica of the yacht that America's Cup is named after. As much as my daughter loves pirate movies, she does not like being around naval gunnery firing. Her response was "That was horrible!" I did not realize horrible was in her vocabulary. moving on to today, I started to shape some of the PVC inlets for the round growbeds.

I believe that it will be subtle when the growbeds are filled and growing.

Then I had to brainstorm an inexpensive way to support the horizontally laying growbeds so that they will be the same height as the vertically laying ones. My first idea was that 2x6s laid vertically lengthwise would give the height needed. It was short by about 2 inches, so I needed to come up with another solution . I took a trip to the Orange Box to see what I could do and I found some 6x8x12 cinder blocks with a nice groove in them for $.83 each . I then proceeded to cut some 2x6s into cradles for the GB's. the result:

I will level them better in the not so distant future, and plumb the Affnans in too. Today's work, however, is done as my wife is off teaching ballet and I am home with the little one.

Getting there... I still need to pick up another IBC. I'm not sure if I am going to go back to the same place I got my first, or if I am going try and find a good one for less. I also need to order my pump. Then it is more plumbing, then gravel, then, then, then...
