My cherry tomatoe plant seems to be having some issue with the leaves becomming black and shriveling up. Any ideas? I will try to get some pictures

I should also mention that the other tomato plants I have growing in there are not showing any signs of stress like this. Also the strawberry plants in the container are looking strong other than the catapilliars I pull off of them daily.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue too.
I think it's because my PH is too high and there is not enough iron in the system.
I have neglected my system lately, no Seasol and no Chelated Iron been added for a (long) while.
The plants in the dirt are fine, despite also being neglected, so I put it down to a lack of soluble iron.

Think I have come to the determination that the wilting of the single tomatoe plant is from when the fill valve was not working right and causing the bed to stay full of water instead of draining. The other plants in this bed are fine and were planted after the valve was changed out.
I have cut the brown wilted leaves from the plant and new groth is starting to take its place, also the top of the plant was not effected only the lower original parts of the plant.
Keeping my fingers crossed that this was it, now to battle the darn catapilliars that are eatting everything in site.
ANy ideas on those?

CF system beds are full of water all the time

Mine is a flood and drain system but with the valve that was not working it ended up being just a flood and not drain bed as the in flow water would slow down enough due to temperature to not cause the siphon to work as it should.

My only point Tolly was that a flooded bed may not be the issue as there are many flooded beds out there, just food for thought

I know the issues seems to be correcting so I am not sure what caused it I am just glad that one is recovering and the others do not seem to be effected.

If you have only one tomato plant it may be dodgy, not the system. Like Charlie says heaps of systems run cf. Was the plant struggling when it was draining properly? There is a fungal disease that turns tomato leaves black, but this is more common in soil gardens.

When it was planted in the bed it seemed fine. It was the first plant in the new bed and getting the valve adjusted was a work in progress at the time so it is hard to say if it was struggeling with something before hand. It makes sence that it should of done fine with a flooded bed as you all have said. It is still looking rough as far as the older leaves but the new growth that is comming out seems to be fine and uneffected. It is also producing fruit so will keep watching it and seeing what it is going to do. As for the other plants they all seem to be doing fine and are producing blooms at this point as well.
