Bunnings here in Albury have the 25mm poly pipe and fitting, maybe yours does too.

The one sold in B was transparent and too expensive. The one i use, black rubber, is less than half in price. Got it from Soladome. Very easy to use, but when the curve is strong, it can fold and block water flow.

Canon S90 takes low light picture.
A night time view of my fish pond with about 130 gold fish.
I have thrown in some food to make them alert.

It is interesting to see how fish finds out when food is available when it is not obvious that the feeder is throwing food in.

My pond is 5 metres long with a fountain in the middle to obstruct the view on the other side. The fish on the other side cannot see whether there is food or not.

It appears the movement of other fish closer to me works as a signal to other fishes further away, and this signal or awareness propagates through the rings of fishes.
That is my guess without doing any research.

have you ever been sitting around of an evening, relaxing, waiting for dinner time.... and suddenly smelt some neighbour a few houses away have just started cooking a BBQ? the smell floats into your space... and fills your nostrils.

things travel better and longer in water, so i would guess its somewhat of the same thing happening.

the only difference is they can travel to where the lovely smell is coming from, and begin eating.... where as if you walked into your neighbours house and started eating his BBQ steaks and sausages things would end quite differently.

nice vid of your fish. even more than we like pics.... we love vids. good stuff :D

Nice video Seijin, perhaps the ripple effect? Just a thought.

A daytime video view of my backyard aquaponics. It is high definition video 720dpi.

Pond water has become clearer than ever. Perhaps due to the additional two grow beds. Now I do not have a separated dedicated time for pond filter. Instead I have about 20% of water going through filter as an over flow whenever pump is operating, which is 30 min flood and 30 min drain for 24 hours.

My second duckweed tray is also working very well.

Hey had a quick look at your updates and think you need to add a few clamps to the outlets of your grow-beds I don't want to hear that the hoses came off and then drained your Pond..

I just found a stack of mosquito larvae in my duckweed tank, if you're being overrun by mozzies, it might be worth dropping a gold fish or two into the tanks.

I had some mosquito bites, and I began to remove any stale water, but did not think about the duckweed tray. Will check.

that polly pipe and the barbed fittings will never come loose on there own. even when you try and pull them apart they are almost impossible to pull off without cutting them off. i really dont think they need any clamps at all. even at tap water pressure they dont pop off. i used them for mains pressure stuff around here and never had one even leak let alone pop off.

yours are only under pump or gravity pressure, they will never leak let alone pop off.

I normally report on Sunday and the end of week 9 is still two days away, but something happened that is worth reporting. The most important is a bad news, and will come last.

First, some old news that were reported earlier: growing really well.
1] Duckweed growth in picture

2] I had success in growing from seeds in a separate small container.

I am using yogourt cup so that I can plug into my grow bed later on. This way I can prepare many seedlings from seeds without using the space in a larger grow bed.

I already mentioned that pond water became very clear after I added two additonal gorw beds. Here are some still pictures that I too about a week ago.

It turned out water became less clear a couple of days ago.
