Does any body know anything about worm farming?

What I want to know is what size holes should one drill in the bottom of your worm tray?

Mine has a mesh in the bottom, would be easier than drilling holes. I think the holes would be around 2mm...ish

worm farms can be really basic, you don't even HAVE to drill holes but some drainage is a good thing for a new worm bin keeper since it is often too easy to wind up with it too wet if you don't have drain holes.
Keep in mind that worms are not a complete fish feed all by themselves.

I think 1/4 and 3/8ths holes are in my bins. Most are all 1/4 inch as the red worms are able to migrate through them fine I did 3/8th as a test but found it not needed for the worms I had. I do have larger vent holes in the sides but that is due to them having former lives as edible mushroom bins.

1.Grow worms
2.???????
3.PROFIT!!!!!

might be a good idea to just sell them if you are growing enough to use as fish food. The money that you get would buy way more bagged commercial food then worms would provide.

I think the easiest way is to cut a section out of the container bottom, say 100 x 50 mm, and silicon glue fibreglass fly-screen over the edges. If you leave a central piece, it will support the screen.

Do the same at the top of the container, both sides, only narrow slits for aeration.

Works great. :thumbright:

I dont use a worm try. Just use a bathtub with a standpipe to let drain. Worms grow like crazy and you just scrape away from one end to empty. Old man has 4 bathtubs he uses.
