@RupertofOZ - definitely they were stocking Atlantic Salmon in both Purrumbete & Bullen Merri lakes. Not sure about the second but Purrumbete is definitely Fresh and no release to the sea. It's a crater lake.

Cool is good. I want variety so I'm beginning to think 2 separate systems, one for warm and one for cool. I've added heat pumps to the research list - seem to recall a while back hearing about passive heat pump systems. Need to find that.

I'm wondering if 2 x 3 or 4m GH's would be a better bet than 1 x 6m or 7m GH. Central water tank with one feed coming from then top and the other from the bottom or similar. COuld be a good way to utilise excess heat - just move it to the tropical GH.
