System update, havnt tested parameters for a while but no surprises to be honest.

PH - 7
AMM - 0
NITRI - 0
NITRA - >160
TEMP - 28
SALINITY - 2ppt
40 Silver Perch

Loaded in another 1000 worms today.

Been too busy on my yabbie adventures to set up the rest of the system yet but plan to do some more very soon as I pick up another 40 SP and some marron next week. Possibly looking at integrating another 400L GB which feed a DWC bed which returns to a sump which will be home to a couple of marron. Not sure yet.

And here's a couple of vid's, sorry I dont talk much

I had to catch some sooky SP and put them in my floating basket so you could actually see them up close, been thinking of printing a photo of my face, laminate it and stick it to the wall of the FT so they get acquainted with me SP are the only pets I own that dont give a rats that I feed and care for them, even the budgies at least say hello. Maybe they know too much and understand their destiny??

Nice looking setup, Charlie. Like the idea about yr photo in there too. did you ever see that robotic shark they made to get close footage of sharks (at least I think it was sharks)? Brilliant. Apparently goldfish see a much wider spectrum of light than humans can. Not sure if that applies to SP too, but wouldn't be too surprised. Maybe the tank's giving them the blues! :P~

thanks fer9us, I think Ive seen the robotic shark thing your talking about - I was kinda joking about putting a pic of my face in the tank but you never know, I always thought that goldfish had a memory span of 3 seconds when I was younger, got no idea how true that is :dontknow:

thanks Marc, got this batch around middle of last summer so they have only really put the weight on this summer as they become quite dormant through our frosty winters, I think from memory they were about 40-50mm back then - some have grown a lot and some just a little. Its funny now that I have had them for around 14 months I am finding it difficult to harvest any as I have spent so much time on them. :thumbright:

Yeah, goldfish are pretty dumb, I think. Cichlids seem much sharper, much more interaction going on with things outside the tank at any rate. Perhaps the aliens all think we're pretty dumb too, fiddling around in our tiny leedle planet. hehe

Does that mean that goldfish are actually genetically blond... and just dye themselves different colours to disguise their true nature... or to make themselves appear more intelligent...

I once heard of a cichlid that would squirt/flick water at it's owners to let them known it was hungry.

Found this guy in the GB last night, cant say Ive ever seen a frog in kalgoorlie before, Im guessing the rain brought him out.

From what I can tell from a google search it may be a trilling frog.
