Just trying to prepare ahead of time. My fish tank is not ready for fish yet.

So, where is the best place to order bulk Tilapia fish food from?

I have gone through these pages, and have not seen anything. I found a place on line by the name of Premium fish food. Need to know any reviews done for them or not?

Any information about bulk Tilapia fish food would be apperciated.

I get mine from a local mill who also happens to be a great fish food supplier, lucked out that way:

Tilapia take the Bronze feed, like $18 for a 44lb bag picked up a the mill. Your mileage may vary.

I got too many questions:
What type of Tilapia do you have?
How much do they eat?
How fast do they grew, let us say, from fingerling to say 4 inch size?

I use Premium fish food for my tilapia, and like it...

Premium Fish Food is a company that I believe is owned by White Brook Tilapia Farm in Kansas City. Kellen is the gentleman's name. He does a nice job with his fish, check out his website.

I had Rocky Mountain Whites, shipped from Miami Aquaculture in 2007. I don't have them now.
I was feeding them like 3 or 4 tablespoons of food twice per day, there was about 60 of them.
They grew well and fast, happiest in 80 degree or more water, not happy below 70, dead at 50. They started having babies immediately. Tilapia are the perfect fish other than the heating requirements.

I checked their site. I did not see any tilapia for sale. I have communicated with white brooks and they have 3 different types of tilapia, but they are so expensive!

Did you get to eat the fish you had, or they died at 50F?
So, what type of fish do you have now?

I have Mozambique tilapia, as that is the only non Licensed species allowed in Texas.... They hatched the first Batch of fry of the year yesterday, with another big batch today and water temps only in the 76F to 78F range for the last couple of weeks. They grow pretty fast, but not as fast as the rocky mountain whites, or the Blue or Nile verity

Yes I got to eat a few of them, eventually I gave some to the high school and put the rest outside, had another huge round of babies during the Summer outside but gave up on them and they died in the Fall when the water was 50. Karen Swanberg has a few of their cousins, through GotFish and Janet Hesselberth who I shared that shipment with.

ATM I have two koi, some bluegill maybe dozen or so, and probably 32 rainbow trout, about four minnows and four goldfish outside in a separate stock tank.

All right, at last I got to make some. I used my mixer to ground the following
Soybean
corn
Chis Seeds
then added whole wheat flour, powdered milk, whole eggs, and garlic powder.
Mixed the whole thing up, and dryed it in 190 degree oven.

Go to the supermarket and buy bulk dry CAT FOOD.
It has a similar nutrient composition to high quality fish food. Providing the fish are more then 6" long, they will eat it readily.

There are two factors for me to make it myself, [1] I can make it healthier, and [2] I can make it cheaper.
I paid $16 for each bushells of soy bean, and $9 for each bushells of corn.
I have been reading all the factory made animal foods, they all have used by products (soy meal and corn meal). Do you know what soy meal and corn meal are?
After using so many chimicals and different processes under heat, to get their oil extracted, the reminder is the meal.
I am trying to feed them as healthy as possible, because I am the one who is going to enjoy eating them.
I forgot to mention that I added a little bit of Azomite to that food.

I do know what oilseed meal is. It is a highly nutritious source of protein and vitamins.The extraction methods do not contaminate the oil, nor the meal.
Seed meal is used in most animal feeds, as is yellow grease (used cooking oil), other grains and many more things.
I do not know everything in the list of ingredients for the Cat food, whereas you know exactly what goes into your fish feed. Have you catered for all nutritional requirements, vitamins, etc?

By the way, the trout I harvested last November are delicious.
