I see you are doing some hand pollinating with your tomatoes. All that hard work to build the greenhouse is paying off in produce. Nice job.

In the growbeds, do your onions bulb out at the root or are you just using the tops? I've got some in my flood and drain barrels, but have yet to see anything signficant at the root.

Hey

Yes.. they grow very large bulbs... when they start to fill out, I move the rocks so just the bulb is showing, this way they dont have to fight against the pressure of rocks....

I think in my outside AP thread, I have a picture of a red onion that was very large and very good tasting...

I got 10 maringa seeds in 10 days ago... I hear they are very hard to germinate...

so I put them in 8 oz cups watered them from the bottom up and covered them with
a plastic cover....

to my surprise, I have a 90% germination rate......

cute little things..... they should be ready to transplant outdoors in about a month

onions bulbing often depends on getting the right variety of onion and the right season for your latitude.

Nice tomatoes JT, I love how some of them come in the oddest of shapes. Reminds me of good old fashioned tomatoes when I was little.

thanks all...

yes.... tomatoes do not have to be perfect to taste good...

Americans want PERFECT looking produce.... most dont care about taste....

I had the hobby greenhouse club come by saturday and I had about 200 cherry toms on
one plant... so I let them all have a taste...

most could not believe how good they were..... they all wished they could grow toms all winter long, and of course, I told them how they could :headbang:

we are now coming into spring and looking forward to planting a lot more.... in all three systems

What's with the Moringas? Are you growing them for any specific reason?
