I am having trouble with anaheim chilis. I'm wondering if they're sensitive to being overwatered? I transplanted a few small plants a week or so ago and the pepper plants aren't looking too good. Leaves are curling a little bit, they haven't grown yet and a few bottom leaves are yellowing.

This is what my chillie did as well. It was a fairly large plant that had already produced some fruit and had a few flowers on it. I put it in there about 8 days ago. It is only in the last day or so that i can see any growth and improvement. It may just be that your plant is still in a bit of shock and putting most of its efforts into growing roots?

Hey guys :) Chilli plants will suffer shock big time and look like they are dieing before they come good. So don't be to concerned I've got a birds eye chilli plant I put in about 3 months ago after it looking really sickly in the front of my garden since then it went through shock from me putting it in the ap system then slowly started sending out new leaves then went balistic and just to rib a few mates who love chilli I've been counting the last 3 weeks produce

week 1 121 chillies
week 2 142 chillies
week 3 168 chillies

no chilli shortage here :) I've also got a orange hab, trindad scorp butch t in the mix coming along nicely I should chuck my anaheim in aswell but its been going nuts in soil its a big plant :D

In the last 2 days or so i have seen about 15mm of growth in the chillies that are on mine. Green shoots are starting to take off too. I am excitied. It is only a jalapeno and i will be looking at getting a better variety soon.

MattySEQ how did you find germinating the butch t?

can i swear rsevs3? it was a #@#@#$$ %$#@....... I actually got some and had 7 out of 12 germinate but the weather at that point was to cold so they died off after a frosty night then after about 100 seeds ordered later I had one grow and boy have I babied it ever since :) its gone from about 5cms to 20cms tall after transfering it to the ap system in the last month with 2 small bulbs ready to flower in the next couple weeks so its showing promise.

lol yea I'm growing it to add it to sauces I'll probably use birdseyes as the base and use habs and scorps as the real heat :) its kinda funny I got into aquaponics mainly for the fish plus herbs and veg but now my main focus has gone towards chilli with a slight adjunct towards ingrediants that make up a vietnamese soup called Pho asian in an aussie body I swear hahaha :D

Haha chillies are awesome. I have lost my chilli tolerance in the last few years. Now days a jalapeño is hot

I might do a search on chilli keeping to learn some more about them. Keep us updated with your chilli escapades.

I go to a vietnamese restaurant at inala, not the best suburb in the world but this restaurant is fairly decent and the pho is fantastic although you do get times where its fantastic and other times where its good but not mouthwatering while you eat it.

heres a few pics of my chilli plants

last weeks pickings

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem! Thanks for your input guys. And Matty, pho is probably one of my all time favorite foods! Do you have a good recipe? I hope my anaheim's can grow like your guys' chili's!
