Ajy: Trading honey for mead is an illegal practise that I think happens more often than the authorities know about. As such I'm sure it would never be discussed here.

Merrick: how far away do you live?

Both of you: checkout www.gotmead.com for detailed info.
Www.aussiehomebrewer.com.au also has a small mead section.
Ajy: lookup JAO or "Joes ancient orange" all will become clear.

'burgs, stealing cars, you?'
'trading mead for honey...'

i am assuming that it is illegal to trade because it is liquor... but what if it was traded as a "cleaning product"

Hi Mek, you can use any bottle to keep your brew in as long as it has an air tight seal (ie: two litre pepsi bottle)

I use 750ml Long Necks or King Browns. Most types are fine - twist top or pop top. Stubbies are fine too, but I find they take a lot longer to bottle up...

Grolsh in the 1.5ltr bottles would be probably the best one to go for if you're gonna choose beer just for the bottle it comes in.. Having some dutch friends would help a lot..

You guys are crazy!

Coke, Pepsi, Kirks, Back and gold brand soft drink, soda water, etc plastic bottles are a lazy beer makers best friend. Sure shelf life is limited to about three months, although I have had ginger beer out there for a year.

11 2litre bottles kills 60 stubbies.

I can bottle, clean the brewer and put down a new brew in less than half an hour. For special brews I use the plastic 750ml coopers bottlesn so it takes a little longer, but capping is easy and reliable. $13 at mom at BigW for 15, then the rest into 2litre or 1.25l bottles. Drink the big bottles when on own, smaller bottles when guests are around.

Oh how I wish, four months is the best I get.

50% of a brew goes into Coopers plastic king browns . They keep well. The other half goes into coke bottles, they get opened at three months. Keep a good rotation going.

Currently drinking English ale, pale ale, dark ale and chocolate stout
