Are you human?: most of the time

The 'mirror carp' which was developed in Germany is an excellent temperate aquaculture fish, they get their name from having just a few large scales on their sides which look like mirrors.

They are pretty innocuous with fingerlings, dont have the mouth for predator fish but they will suck up eggs of other fish in a heartbeat.

Hello
I was interested in sunfish too and stumbled upon this thread in the search function.
I can get them easily at 7cm (2.8 inches) for 1€.
Is this a good price? I was thinking about getting about ten and play around with polyculture with carp (common).
Tank is 1000L.
Has anyone had any success with the pumpkinseed in AP? How did that turn out for you Dominik?

Also, wouldn't slow growth be bearable if the fish were sustainable and breedeing-friendly?

I pulled a bunch of perch out of my pond to get my system started. Figured if they died I was out nothing. They have been in there for over 2 months now and are doing great. None have died and they eat what ever lands in the water. It is fun feeding them worms, cricketts, minnows and fresh water shrimp.

I have about 25 bass, and about 20 perch in there right now. They are not having any issues at all. I keep adding more as I catch them. They will all be taken out when my system is finished going with catfish.

I'm guessing you have a pretty hot climate in east Texas... Am I right? How do they do with the colder more temperate climate?
They are an invasive species here anywhere, and many people say they will reproduce rasily in aquariums. They intrigue me...

Yeah, it gets real hot in the summer, but we get into the low teens in the winter. They have been in my pond for years, and reproduce a lot in there. Our summer temps are well over 100 deg F.
