I think the site is probably also responsible for a few marriage breakdowns, and perhaps a slight decrease in the birth rate.. But also for increasing the number of people feeding themselves a bit more.. :thumbright:

aquaponics still new in the uk so no goodies around like that but knowing my missis she will make some, even looked for some books in town and nothing, there is supposed to be government funding for aquaponic projects but no-one seems to have heard of it, and as soon as u describe it to people they look at you weird and you know they are thinking that you are growing weed, in fact sounds like a thread

Welcome!
There are a few people down south west doing aquaponics- Paignton Zoo have a set up, and Dan Powell at http://www.aquaallotments.com and those are just two that we know of.
You will find all the information you need here on this forum.
Funding is available in some areas of the UK - especially in deprived areas of the country, where grants are available for people wishing to diversify into new methods of food production.Your local enterprise board or farmers union might be able to help.
We don`t know of anyone growing weed with AP - so we suggest you contact your local drugs squad who will point you in the right direction - :funny1: :naughty:

hi all
bac again, been busy with 2 systems so flat out now, mrs made me dismantle system so she could paint it with flowers, and a friend of mine owns 30 odd acres that he just lets people use for horses free of charge, when i told him what i was making he has now put up 2 polytunnels and we are now starting an experimental system to see how it goes, if it works he wants to build a load of them on a bottom field, unfortunetly i made the mistake of saying we could do this cheap, so recycled everything is order of the day, i will post pics on sunday, but it wont look pretty lol, but if it works we will look for funding then if its available, but with hosepipe bans coming soon and drought now extending as far north of yorkshire aquaponics is gonna go big in the uk i think
