Hi Y'all,
Well I typed in, planting guide Perth, and no result so maybe this will come up for someone asking same question as me.
Im sure its been asked a hundred times but,
Can anyone advise on what would be some failsafe dead set certainty plants to plant in my system at this time in Perth. (March for future reference)

There is a planting guide on the site, and you can order heaps of different varieties rarely seen in most shops and nurseries.

I like the idea of getting some Eden seeds and doing some seedlings, and using the Gardenate list should put me in the right direction.
I used jiffy pots around December to plant out Water melon seedlings which is per planting guide, the seeds were ones I had collected from a water melon bought from the shop (last season) and I think I may have also planted out a couple of Eden ones from memory. Once the seeds were established I planted the whole pot in the Grow bed. Do any of you seed propagators do this or is it not a good idea. I know when I pulled a couple of old ones out yesterday they both had worms in them.
The seedlings didn't survive past growing about 150mm long (leaves and plant that is, not fruit). I wonder if the jiffy pot was holding to much water and the little seedling roots were weakened by the water logging and couldn't make it out of the pot to reach flood and drain environment of gravel grow bed?

Does anyone have experience planting out in jiffy pots, which are little pots made of vegetable matter and break down as seedlings grow?

Those jiffy pots take a long time to dissolve and degrade, I wouldn't use them in a Ap system, I would wash the roots of seedlings and then plant out in GB. Just be aware that some watermelons and things like that are hybrid these days and the seeds will not produce fruiting plants. It's better to purchase seeds from a seed merchant.

And by the way last time I was in BYAP they had Eden seeds on sale over the counter. Lovely open pollinated heirloom seeds.
