I have read all over here that people have timer to turn the pump on 15 minutes per hour.

Is it possible to have the water pump running all the time for fill and drain system?
So, it fills the grow beds, when the syphon starts, will suck all the water out, while water is still getting pumped in, but the fill rate is not as high a volume as the syphon's volume, then fills again and same process repeats 24 X 7 ?

Is there going to be any issues with this process?

It's done just as often the way you describe. Continuous flow with a siphon. You just have to make sure that your fill rate is right to trigger the siphon. I think that's done more often around here than with a timer. Not me... it's constant flood for me!

Yeah, nice temperate weather, but my wife hates the fog! Yeah I drive by that all the time. Small world!

Oh check out the trial thread if you can find it here. There are 3 systems I think they are timer flood and drain, then continues flow w/ a siphon, then continuous flood where the water level is constant and the growbeds overflow via a standpipe. Last I checked the results were really similar. A good read if you're in the design phase.

I just planted tomatoes, so I'll let you know how that goes. So far peas, kale and strawberries have done well in my system.

Also, why would anyone want to grow eggplant =).
