Yes Superveg. That's what I need.

The manual is here

http://www.unitemp.com/files/resources/ ... manual.pdf

There is a lot of stuff here to get my head around. I wish there was someone who could tell me how to set it up quick and easy... Perhaps give unitemp a call on monday morning...

This is actually exciting for me. Can't wait to see if I can get temps up in my fish tank with a bit of greenhouse vent control...

Another tilapia died for no obvious reason. I am thinking I should possibly clean out the sump really well and check for funny stuff in there. The kids could well have chucked something in there without my knowing. Something galvanized? I did an autopsy on the fish and the body cavity had sort of strange dark brown stains on it? There was also greenish yellow stuff about.

After a fish is dead it is often difficult to tell much from it since as soon as they die bacteria get in and really start breaking things down.

Yeah. Also have no idea how long it was dead for. Not too long though. I am thinking if the temps where higher the tilapia would be happier.

I have found a source of live African catfish which is exciting. New potential species for my greenhouse system. Probably less cold sensitive? Problem is they supply them in a 1 to 5 kg size  . They can get to 50kg

Yes Tcl. They are interesting indeed. They can actually survive in dried up mud ponds for extended periods. Crawl from dried up rivers to find water. They can basically live out of water!

Are you human?: The top half is
Location: Chiang Mai, NW Thailand.
They sound similar to Thai catfish.
The dirtier the water, the more they like it.
They also will jump out of the pond and "walk" around, bizarre to watch.
The biggest caught here was 293 kg and I think might even still be the largest freshwater fish ever caught.

That's a really big one Dui. River Sturgeons get bigger here but you're not permitted to keep the really big ones. In the Columbia River they get pretty big I know fish over 10 ft are brought alongside boats but have to be let go (I believe American Indians are allowed to keep fish which they net as part of an treaty agreement). I suspect most of the bigger ones were hauled out long ago but they weren't caught by line.

Yip. Rumors of giant African catfish or commonly called 'barbels' that live in the Hartebeespoort dam near Pretoria in South Africa abound. Things like them leaping out of the water and swallowing sheep whole and stuff like that.

I may need a bigger system! With a winch over it!

Skeptics everywhere 8)

Here in the US we have submersibles to confirm these guys exist :D

The guy driving the ROV was pretty lame IMHO. Not an easy job with the current, still a 10 yr old might have done as well with a joystick.

This one beached just for you doubters. :bootyshake:

Wow one of them was 4500+lbs.
It was National Geographic who claimed the catfish was the biggest fish caught, you'd think they would have their facts right.
They were out by miles, unless the Sturgeon is not classed as freshwater.

"hy.1" This sets the hysteresis for the Alarm output (output 1) and is a % of the input range. It
should normally remain set at 0.1 Use the up/down arrow keys to change this
parameter. Setting it to 100 means the alarm will latch.
Alternatively hy.1 sets the time delay before the alarm trips if the alarm type (Al.t parameter) in the Out menu is set to n+32 or n+64.

Good point - they do spend part of their time in brackish waters or estuaries so it's possible they don't classify them as freshwater. Some of the ones in the Columbia have no choice because of dams and live entirely in Freshwater.

Thanks SV... Will attempt to set it up the Gefran tomorrow. Going to be a learning curve. That's for sure!
